A final word from our Accountable Manager
Chief Superintendent Vicki White, Accountable Manager and Chief Operating Officer of NPAS, said:
As Accountable Manager, it is a privilege to be part of the National Police Air Service, and witness, first hand, the valuable support provided to our police colleagues across England
and Wales.Every day, I get to hear how an NPAS crew has helped find a vulnerable missing person or ensured that a dangerous driver was tracked and detained before anyone was hurt.
There is little doubt that air support has a vital role in saving lives and safeguarding our communities.
But operating a national police air service is not without its challenges.
Maintaining a fleet of 20 helicopters and four aeroplanes to deliver support, when and where it is most needed, whilst meeting strict regulatory and safety standards, and providing value for money for police forces, is demanding.
The team at NPAS works incredibly hard, with commitment and skill, to deliver the very best possible service.
In recent months, a comprehensive review of the service has been conducted and we have gained valuable feedback from policing partners - both at a strategic and operational level.
Looking forward, we will continue to listen to feedback and work with our partners to address the evolving demands of policing, integrate new technologies and ensure value for money, whilst maintaining our unwavering commitment to safety
and performance. We know that our success depends on the collaboration of all our stakeholders, including our dedicated staff, police forces and partner agencies. I thank them for their continued support.
Working together we can ensure NPAS remains a vital asset in safeguarding our society now, and in the future.
