The NPAS vision and values

The National Police Air Service (NPAS) proudly delivers air support to every police force in England and Wales.

Every day, up and down the country, police helicopter and aeroplane crews save lives, tackle criminality and keep people and communities safer.

NPAS was formed in 2012 following a national collaboration agreement which legislated that all police forces in England and Wales will work together to:

  • Maximise the benefits of air support to the delivery of frontline police services
  • Achieve a lower cost service than one which is procured and managed on a local basis
  • Form an integrated part of the wider policing strategy
  • Harness innovation in the aviation sector for the benefits of policing

It is our ongoing vision to deliver an adaptive, technology-driven and highly effective air support service which can continue to meet the evolving demands of policing in the delivery of public safety, underpinned by a culture which is safety-conscious, customer-focused, and performance-driven.
