Training Captain and Deputy Head of Training 

Location: Agile working, with requirement to travel throughout England and Wales
Salary: Up to £101,671 (which includes a £7,000 market factor payment)

The job in a nutshell: You will conduct training and regulatory flight examination checks as well as deputise for our Head of Training and represent our service at regional and national meetings. 

The person for the job: You are driven in your commitment to continuous improvement. A great communicator and colleague, you will hold a valid and current UK Part-FCL Commercial Pilots Licence with single-pilot instrument, multi-engine helicopter and TRI(H) ratings, and UK Class 1 medical for single pilot operations carrying passengers. Plus, a valid TRE (H) Licensing Certificate for multi-engine, single-pilot helicopters. And naturally have experience in the delivery of training.

Rotary Line Pilots  

Location: NPAS Birmingham, NPAS Carr Gate, NPAS Hawarden, NPAS Lippitts Hill , NPAS North Weald, NPAS Redhill, NPAS St Athan
Salary: Up to £82,874 outside London, or £85,874 in London (basic salary £65,457 to £68,874 plus £14,000 market factor outside London and £17,000 in London.)

The job in a nutshell: You will fly on fast-paced, dynamic missions, working with Tactical Flight Officers, to find missing people, follow dangerous vehicles, support firearms operations, gather criminal evidence and help police large-scale events. 

The person for the job: A great team member and self-starter with excellent communication skills. You'll have flown a minimum 1,500 hours (or 1,000 hours in military) including 500 hours Pilot in Command overland with a significant proportion of low flying and 100 hours flying at night (including 20 hours Pilot in Command at night).

Tactical Flight Officers (applications are now CLOSED)

The job in a nutshell: As part of a highly-skilled air crew, you will provide valuable support to your police colleagues on the ground, directing them from your unique perspective in the air and, most importantly, keeping them safe. Your jobs will often be fast-paced but you'll also help out with pre-planned events like large-scale gatherings or evidence gathering. Sometimes, you'll have to land to help people and, although quite uncommon, use your powers of arrest. 

The person for the job: It's a tough selection process, because it is such a specialised job. So you need to be 100% committed, a great team player, adaptable, enthusiastic and have great communication skills.

Location:  East Midlands Airport 
Salary: Up to £82,874 (basic salary £65,457 to £68,874 plus £14,000 market factor.)

The job in a nutshell: Exactly as our rotary pilots do, you will fly on fast-paced, dynamic missions, working with Tactical Flight Officers, to find missing people, follow dangerous vehicles, support firearms operations, gather criminal evidence and help police large-scale events. The only difference is you could be flying anywhere in England and Wales on any one shift. 

The person for the job: Another great team member and self-starter with excellent communication skills. You'll have flown a minimum 1,200 hours, including 500 hours Pilot in Command, 100 hours IFR and 50 hours at night.

Base Managers (applications are now CLOSED)

Location:  Almondsbury and Birmingham
Open to: Substantive Police Sergeants (with support from your force)
Experience: You don't need any aviation experience, just bring your best self

The job in a nutshell: Not only will you be trained to the highest level to become one of the crew, as a Tactical Flight Officer, you will also be responsible for the base, and the support and development of those in your team. Just one in 16 Base Managers across England and Wales, is a stand-out Sergeant's role, that's for sure. 

The person for the job: You're a natural leader with passion and drive to get the best from the team. You're great at building relationships with colleagues at forces and are always looking for ways to improve performance and deliver the very best service.
